ALEXANDRE MAGNO (Producer/Creator) BIO
ALEXANDRE MAGNO is a "Brazilian born, International director/choreographer and producer who has remained at the top of his field for over 2 decades. His wealth of experience in multiple fields, and large body of work are a testament to his continual push into new realms of expression while maintaining an original voice.
At the heart of it all, Mr. Magno is an Artist who thinks in visual metaphors; a storyteller, always pushing the boundaries of dance, theatre, television and film, looking for new and unconventional ways to express himself or an idea.
MADONNA-
Mr. Magno staged and choreographed for 2 world tours and 3 TV Specials - The acclaimed "The Girlie Show Tour" + the HBO Special “MADONNA DOWN UNDER - The Girlie Show” and “MADONNA LIVE IN JAPAN - The Girlie Show.”
The show had the central visual theme of a "sex circus". Described as "a mixture of a rock concert, a fashion show, a carnival performance, a cabaret act and a burlesque show", the show had a more complex stage than those from Madonna's previous tours. The costumes for the tour were designed by Italian fashion house DOLCE & GABBANA. The show was nominated for the Grammy Award of Best Long Form Music Video in 1995
Mr. Magno also choreographed the ”Emmy Nominated" "Drowned World Tour + the HBO Special" that was Designed by JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER + DONATELLA VERSAGE. The costumes in such way that they indicated different phases of Madonna's career.
The show was divided into five segments, namely Neo-Punk, Geisha-Anime, Country-Western, Spanish, and Ghetto/Urban.
The tour was a huge commercial success. It went on to become the highest-grossing concert tour of 2001 by a solo artist. She grossed more than US $76.8 million ($102.29 million in 2015 dollars[1]), selling out summer shows and eventually playing in front of 730,000 fans throughout the United States and Europe. It received Major Tour of the Year and Most Creative Stage Production awards nominations at the 2001 Pollstar awards, but lost them to U2. The concert was broadcast live on HBO from The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
YANNI VOICES-
Artistic Director and Choreographer - (Alex created a show mixing Theatre, Opera, Pop Concert, Broadway and and Classic Music) The show features: YANNI, ENDER THOMAS, CHLOE, NATHAN PACHECO, and LESLIE MILLS, along with an amazing full orchestra of world renown musicians. Filmed in Mexico, Yanni Voices was shot for TELEVISA TV, which Mr. Magno had the privilege to work with 4 Latin stars: OLGA TANÕN, CHRISTIAN CASTRO, LUCERO and JOSÉ JOSÉ. Mr. Magno worked really close with Executive Producers YANNI and (RICK WAKE, Producer of SHALL WE DANCE, CÉLINE DION, TAYLOR DAYNE, and CHICAGO- Winner of multiple awards, including: 6 ACADEMY AWARDS, and 3 GOLDEN GLOBES)
NEODANCE- Writer/Director/Choreographer and Producer for LATIN GRAMMY WINNER NESTOR TORRES- (The project is a fusion of Classic TANGO, mixed with all different styles of Latin music and dance) Starring: NESTOR TORRES along with Latin Guest Artists: JOEL ORTIZ (Rap - Spoken Word Artist), JOHNNY VENTURA (Merengue Artist - LATIN GRAMMY AWARD WINNER), GRUPO 24 HORAS (Bachata Duo - Artists), NATTI NATASHA (Reggaeton and Latin Pop Artist), PABLO ZIEGLER (Argentine Pianist and Composer - Nuevo Tango - LATIN GRAMMY AWARD

DANCING WITH THE STARS- (ABC TV number one TV ballroom dance show)
Stage direction and choreography for guest performance of BENISE’s EMMY AWARD WINNER “NIGHTS OF FIRE”) Salsa Salsa. A piece mixing Salsa with Flamenco. Recognized for the direction and staging of the piece as "the sexiest obstacle course.."
PUSSYCAT DOLLS- SWAY video - for movie starring JENNIFER LOPEZ and RICHARD GERE. A Pop/ tango fusion.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX TV Hit Dance Show) Choreograph and appear as himself (coaching and choreographing for some of the top dancers, including: BLAKE McGRATH and ARTEM CHIGVINTSEV.
THE ACADEMY AWARDS CEREMONY- Co-Choreograph with PAULA ABDUL (Judge for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, AMERICAN IDOL, LIVE TO DANCE, THE X FACTOR…) presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) Hosted by BILLY CRYSTAL, Produced by GIL CATES, Directed by JEFF MARGOLIS.
MTV MUSIC AWARDS (Featuring MADONNA “BYE BYE BABY”)
Stage and choreographed the Opening Production Number. Labeled as 20 best VMAs Opening Performances by ROLLING STONES MAGAZINE. “Before there was Jo Calderone, there was Madonna's gender-bending performance of "Bye Bye Baby," the singer donning a tailcoat and top hat in a burlesque/bordello setting that previewed Madonna's 1993 Girlie Show World Tour, which would kick off in a few weeks. Madonna's VMAs portfolio is stacked with captivating presentations, and the risqué "Bye Bye Baby" performance (full of stroked inner-thighs, spanks, frottage, etc.) was another visual stunner.”
